RefugeeConnect has 2 part-time Community Navigator positions open: We are seeking
1 Spanish speaking Community Navigator
1 Chin speaking Community Navigator 


Job Type: Part-time, up to 20 hours per week
Wage: $15/hr
Reports to: Program Director
Location: Hybrid: In person and remote

Organization Background: RefugeeConnect’s mission is to connect refugees (people forced to flee their country to escape persecution or war) with resources to rebuild their lives as United States citizens. RefugeeConnect's collaborative network of resources and Community Navigators is the model for the successful integration of refugees. RefugeeConnect is a local non-profit organization operating in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.

The Position: Part-time Community Navigators will provide direct, individualized family-centered support to families served by RefugeeConnect using culturally-responsive and trauma-informed best practices. The Community Navigator is primarily responsible for outreach to community members and resource referrals to support the individual and family goals of those living in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. This role blends social support: increasing familiarity with the local support systems through guidance in navigating systems, resources, and benefits: and facilitating between parents or individuals and community resources. This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:
•Create supports tailored to the unique experiences of refugee families. Create rich and impactful opportunities for refugees to thrive through native language support, goalsetting, coaching, and resource navigation utilizing existing regional resources
•Educate families about US social systems, how to effectively advocate for their family and how to navigate resources. Community Navigators provide updated and accurate information to families as needs are identified and continually provide education and support while families are actively enrolled in services.
•Collect data and feedback from families about resources to ensure that they have connected with support structures and received the help they need.
•Support the long-term goals of families utilizing a coaching model of mentorship and connection.
•Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development training
•Conduct home visits and/or meet in person with families as needed.
•Maintain and input required data, including case notes, household member information and feedback on resources for grant reporting, utilizing program management software.
•Participate in RefugeeConnect partner events, family events, and event planning, as needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will demonstrate the following: •Experience and success working in partnership with local residents and community organizations;
•Effective communication skills
•Effective English and Spanish language speaking skills;
•Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers;
•Success at managing a wide array of tasks and projects and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment;
•Ability to regularly work flexible hours;
•Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job;
•Excellent organization and planning skills;
•Basic computer skills on a Windows system
•Ability to multi-task
•Fluency in Spanish in order to better communicate with the community we serve

Requirements:
•Your own phone and ability to make calls from it on a regular basis
•Internet to access information on community resources and virtual meetings.
•Ability to travel in person as needed
