Refugee School Impact

The Refugee School Impact Program (RSIP) is a national program administered locally by Hamilton County ESC and RefugeeConnect for Southwest Ohio schools. RefugeeConnect Navigators provide support connecting families to school information and resources as well as community support.

The Refugee School Impact Program provides essential support for refugee families newly arrived to Southwest Ohio and their students in grades K-12. Our services include pairing families with a Community Navigator to ensure families understand the US school system and to connect to any resources necessary for their students' academic success.

By connecting families to school offerings including after-school tutorials and programs that encourage high school completion and full participation in school activities, we ensure that students remain engaged and motivated.

Empowering refugee students and their families

Our parental involvement in our College and Career program aims to strengthen the connection between home and school, while bilingual and bicultural Navigators offer tailored guidance to students and their families in navigating their new school environments. Through this program we are able to foster a sense of community and belonging in a family's new school and home.
