We are dedicated to connecting refugees—individuals forced to flee their home country to escape persecution or war—with resources to rebuild their lives as United States citizens.
Who is a refugee?
Anyone can be a refugee. A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country to escape war or prosecution due to race, religion, nationality, political option or membership of a particular social group.
Through the work of Community Navigators, RefugeeConnect is able to provide the tools and support refugees need to become less transient and begin to put down new roots.
Hear what our navigators have to say
"I think the gap we help fill is that navigators understand how different systems work and because we are all immigrants and refugees, we understand the culture of the families we work with and the experience those families have acclimating here. We teach refugees about navigating systems and we have their trust because we had to build for ourselves, and now we can share our knowledge with our community" - Iliana, Spanish speaking Community Navigator |
